The Unshrinkable Jerry Mouse

Tom has Jerry on a leash and is treating him like a slave when a cute little kitten arrives. Since the kitten is a threat to Tom, Jerry naturally befriends him.

★★★☆☆ Curator’s rating

A Chuck Jones entry in which a kitten's arrival forces Tom to pretend he is not afraid of a mouse. Jones was more interested than his predecessors in the social embarrassment of the situation — Tom's problem here is reputation, not hunger — and it gives the short an unusually psychological shape.
