Adapted from Virginia Lee Burton's celebrated picture book about a country house slowly engulfed by the growing city. It is one of Disney's most faithful literary adaptations in short form and keeps the book's real melancholy — the passage of decades, the loss of the fields — before the rescue. Children who know the book find it uncannily close to it.
