Spike is building his dream house when Tom crashes into it mid-chase. Of course, Jerry then takes every opportunity to route the chases through the construction project.

Spike trying to build a kennel while the chase repeatedly runs through it. The running-gag structure — the same construction destroyed in a new way each time — is a very old comic form, and the escalating fury of a bulldog who only wants to finish a job is what makes it work.
