The direct sequel to Three Little Pigs, made because the studio had a hit and needed to feed it. Crossing the pigs into Red Riding Hood was an early example of the shared-universe instinct, and the wolf is animated with considerably more threat here than in the original — Disney had learned that audiences would tolerate a genuine villain.
The wolf's pursuit of Red Riding Hood is played with real menace, and the grandmother sequence frightens some young children.
