Mickey’s Christmas Carol

It’s the same old classic Charles Dickens story with an all star Disney cast. Uncle Scrooge McDuck is appropriately enough Scrooge and is visited by his dead partner and 3 spirits one night to remember the joys of Christmas.

Nominated for the Academy Award, and the first new Mickey Mouse theatrical short in thirty years — the film that brought the character back after the studio had quietly retired him. Scrooge McDuck plays Scrooge, which is the joke the entire production is built on, and Alan Young's performance defined the character's voice for decades afterwards. For a whole generation this was their first Dickens, and it holds up: the Christmas Yet to Come sequence is genuinely frightening in the way the story requires.
