Widely regarded as one of the best episodes the series produced. It borrows its shape from A Christmas Carol — which is entirely appropriate, given where Scrooge McDuck's name came from — and it commits to the bleakness far longer than a weekday cartoon needed to. The grown-up versions of Huey, Dewey and Louie are the part everybody remembers, and not fondly, which is the point.
The future Duckburg is genuinely bleak, and seeing the family grown, changed and defeated unsettles some children.
