The archaeological adventure was DuckTales's default mode, and it arrived at exactly the right cultural moment — Raiders of the Lost Ark had made tomb-raiding the dominant adventure idiom of the decade, and a children's cartoon could borrow its whole visual language for free.
An Egyptian adventure with the mummy-and-tomb imagery of its genre.
