Nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short. Goofy has become 'Mr X', the suburban everyman, and the studio's style has gone flat, graphic and modern — this is Disney answering UPA on its own terms. The water-skiing climax, where Goofy is towed through an entire racecourse of catastrophe, is one of the great sustained build-ups in the studio's late shorts.
